Cosmic Dodgeball

As we welcome students back to campus, Farm Games launches the new year with an exhilarating event: Cosmic Dodgeball. This event marked a high point for us, setting the stage for many more exciting activities to come. With over 200 participants and 8 competitive teams, the atmosphere was electric at the AOERC gym.

At 4:00pm, a wave of students streamed into the gym, representing the signature Farm Games white shirts provided at the check-in table. Clear rules were laid out at the start, ensuring that all participants were informed and ready as the games unfolded. The gym was transformed with strategically placed black lights illuminating the 3 courts, showcasing vibrant court lines, dodgeballs, and neon decorations that glowed brightly as the main lights dimmed. The stage was set for Cosmic Dodgeball.

Glow-in-the-dark dodgeballs whizzed through the air, demanding constant vigilance even for bystanders. The variety of throws, from fastballs to slow, curved shots, added to the intensity of the game. Teams showcased their agility and teamwork, sliding, jumping, dodging, and ducking to outmaneuver their opponents.

To keep energy levels up, Farm Games provided Chipotle bowls, served at a table outside the gym's back door. Students could enjoy a meal and even take a bowl home for later.

The night was packed with game after game, testing the endurance of all participants. The eventual champions, Team Wisteria, emerged victorious, all neighborhoods showcased remarkable stamina and teamwork. The spirit of unity among participants was palpable, with strangers becoming friends over the course of the evening. Spectators also played a crucial role, staying to watch the final match and assisting Farm Games with cleanup, which was greatly appreciated after such an eventful night.
